General Dynamics F-16AM FA-87 ‘Dream Viper’ during an air-to-air photo mission in 2023, flown in formation with a Belgian Air Force Airbus A400M acting as the photo platform. The formation routed over the Ardennes and the Belgian coastline, showcasing dynamic manoeuvres, smoke trails, flares, and the jet’s signature inverted pass. The A400M provided a unique vantage point, though its powerful engines created wake turbulence and heat haze that required a greater safety distance — adding an additional challenge for photographers onboard. Perfect weather conditions completed an exceptional aerial photography sortie.
