Our images are licensed, not sold. When you buy an image you obtain the legal right to use it under clear, defined terms. Copyright always remains with the photographer unless a separate transfer is agreed. Every licence is non-exclusive unless stated otherwise, with worldwide use and an instant high-resolution download.
Licence types & pricing
A licence for every use, from a single personal print to full exclusive rights.
Private prints, home décor, cards and gifts. Non-commercial use only.
Internal or private use: talks, lessons, club newsletters and course materials.
Websites, blogs, articles, apps and non-commercial social. Worldwide, five years. High-traffic sites (over ~500k monthly visits) require our high-traffic tier — priced on application.
Editorial print or digital, interior placement, any size, five years. $59.99 standard; $150–$300 for national or international circulation; $250–$400 for cover use.
Internal materials for up to 10 staff. Excludes external advertising.

Commercial, archive & exclusive licences

Image download packs — buy more, save more
Need several images for a project? Buy a multi-image download pack and pay one set price for the whole set, instead of licensing each image separately. Choose the pack that matches how you will use the images, then add images to it from any image page.
Pack downloads carry the rights of the matching single licence and nothing beyond it — advertising, cover use, merchandise and buyout are not included. Downloads must be redeemed within 12 months of purchase and unused downloads expire. One image uses one download, however many times you use it within that licence. Packs are non-transferable and cannot be shared between clients or organisations. Any pack image can be upgraded to a higher licence at any time by paying the difference.
Editorial vs commercial use
Editorial use informs, illustrates or educates, such as news, blogs, books and aviation features, and may not promote or advertise. Commercial use promotes a product, service or brand and requires an Advertising, Unlimited/Lifetime or Full Buyout licence.
Non-exclusive vs exclusive
Most licences are non-exclusive, so the same image may be licensed to others. A Full Buyout is exclusive: once purchased, the image is removed from sale and no further licences are issued.
Duration and territory
Each licence specifies its duration, such as five years or lifetime, and applies worldwide unless stated otherwise. Advertising licences are priced by the territories and duration your campaign needs.
What a licence does not grant
Licences do not transfer ownership or copyright, and do not allow resale, redistribution or sub-licensing. Merchandise, product packaging and mass production require a custom agreement or a Full Buyout.
Licensing FAQ
Do I own the image after buying it?
No. You receive a licence to use the image under defined terms. Copyright always remains with the photographer unless explicitly transferred.
Can I post the image on social media?
Yes, with an Online Editorial licence for non-commercial posts, or an Advertising licence for commercial posts and campaigns.
Can I use it in a YouTube video?
For informational or educational videos, the Online Editorial licence applies. For business promotion or sponsored content, the Advertising licence is required.
Can I use it in my company's internal materials?
Yes. Choose Small Business Internal (up to 10 staff) or Large Business Internal (more than 10 staff) depending on company size.
What does a Full Buyout include?
Exclusive, perpetual usage across all media. The image is removed from sale; copyright remains with the photographer unless expressly transferred. Available only on images we own outright, from $3,500 — final pricing on application, depending on usage and rarity.
Can I resell or upload it to stock libraries?
No. Redistribution, resale, sharing or uploading to stock libraries is prohibited unless custom rights are granted in writing.
Can I print it on merchandise?
Not with standard licences. Merchandise or product packaging requires a custom commercial licence or a Full Buyout.
Can I upgrade my licence later?
Yes. Upgrade to a higher tier by paying the price difference. Contact us with the image reference and your original licence.
How do image download packs work?
Buy a pack, then add images to it from any image page until the downloads are used. Each download carries the rights of the licence the pack was sold at — Personal Use or Online Editorial — and nothing beyond it. One image uses one download, no matter how many times you use it within that licence.
