Frequently asked questions
What is the Dream Viper?
The ‘Dream Viper’ is the special-painted F-16AM Fighting Falcon (serial FA-87) of the Belgian Air Force F-16 Solo Display Team, wearing a custom display livery and tail art for its 2023 season. The team was disbanded in February 2024, so the scheme is now retired — these are among the last air-to-air images of it flying.
How were these photos taken?
Air-to-air in 2023 from the open ramp of a Belgian Air Force Airbus A400M acting as the photo platform — unusual for Aviation PhotoCrew, who normally shoot from their Short Skyvan — as the formation routed over the Ardennes and the Belgian coastline, flown by display pilot ‘Vrieske’.
Can I license these images?
Yes. Every image is available to license for editorial and commercial use, or to order as a museum-quality fine-art print, with full-resolution files delivered on approval. Get in touch for a specific frame or usage.
Who photographed them?
Aviation PhotoCrew, the world-renowned air-to-air team represented exclusively by Piemags Aviation, with crewmember Geert aboard the Belgian Air Force A400M. Enquire about flying on a photomission.
