German Air Force, Luftwaffe, Nord 1002 Pingouin II, Nord 1000, Nord 1001, close-up pilot view, air-to-air, UK Warbirds 2025

A Nord 1002 Pingouin II is a four‑seat, single‑engine liaison, communications and trainer aircraft originally developed in France after World War II from the Messerschmitt Bf 108 Taifun design. The type seen here is presented in German Air Force Luftwaffe colours with military code F8‑CA and serial 274 at UK Warbirds 2025. Nord Pingouin production totalled 286 aircraft. The Pingouin II variant is powered by a Renault 6Q‑10 six‑cylinder inverted inline engine producing around 240 hp, has low‑wing cantilever monoplane configuration, tailwheel landing gear, enclosed cabin for one pilot and three passengers, automatic leading edge slats, and is used for liaison and basic training missions by military and civil operators.
