Captured during USAFE Days 2023, a U.S. Air Force F‑35A Lightning II flies with a Boeing F‑15E Strike Eagle in an air‑to‑air view. The F‑35A uses a single Pratt & Whitney F135 afterburning turbofan for both air‑to‑air and strike roles. The F‑15E, a larger, two‑seat aircraft, is powered by dual Pratt & Whitney F100 turbofans and designed for long‑range interdiction as well as air combat.
